Reuth

Memorial to Mr Sam Havin

In a very moving ceremony, the renovated dining hall at Beit Jenny Breuer in Tel Aviv was recently dedicated in memory of the late Mr. Sam Havin of Sydney Australia.

The event was attended by Mr Havin's nephews Michael and David, who had coordinated this generous gift to Reuth.

After the placing of the mezuzah at the entrance to the hall, guests were treated to a delightful afternoon tea, attended by Reuth board members, family of the late Jenny Breuer after whom the home is named, staff, residents and of course the Havin family. As each guest spoke briefly of their connection to Reuth and/or to "Uncle Sam"  the atmosphere truly reflected that of a caring and warm family.

The highlight of the event was the speech given by David Havin (of Melbourne Australia) reflecting on all aspects of the dedication. (See attached)

The family proudly unveiled the plaque which will serve as a fitting memorial to Mr Sam Havin.
