Reuth

A fashion show for Reuth Rehab hospital

A fabulous fashion show, featuring the works of Israel's top fashion designers, took place on Monday evening, May 19 2014, at Avigdor in Tel Aviv. Actress and model Yael Goldman volunteered her services as the evening's mc. All proceeds will go towards enhancing and expanding the activities of Reuth Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Tel Aviv.

Smadar Ganzi  produced and directed the event, and some of Israel's leading fashion designers contributed their share, including: Yaron Minkowski, Dorin Frankfurt, Efrat Kalig, Yaniv Persy, Ronen Farache, Doron Ashkenazi, Shani Zimmerman, Elad Mieli, Yossi Katzav, Nestya, Banker and Eliran Nargassi. Shoes were supplied by Nine West. Adah Lazorgan was in charge of makeup, and David & Erez did the hairstyling.

The event was the brainchild of Tamara Freudenstein, a true Reuth friend from the US, who had volunteered at Reuth Rehab Hospital in the summer of 2012, as part of unique internship program for high school students. Deeply empowered by the experience and moved by the staff's great dedication to the patients, she decided upon her return to New York to spread the word and raise funds for Reuth. Last year she held the first Reuth Runway fashion event in Manhattan, raising over $50,000 for Reuth.

Following graduation Tamara returned to Israel, and began to attend Bar Ilan University. At the same time she started volunteering at Reuth's Children's Department. Before long, she decided to initiate another fundraising event, this time in Tel Aviv. For nearly a year she labored, organizing a fashion show with some of the best Israeli designers, and recruiting many sponsors - including Avigdor, who contributed the venue free of charge.

In addition to the fashion show, the evening also featured a lottery with many wonderful prizes: weekends & spa treatments courtesy of Tamares Hotels, jewelry donated by American designer Rona Pfeiffer and dinners at home from Naomi Catering in Jerusalem, including wine contributed by Tura Winery.
